FemMov is the effort of organizing supporters of equal rights and treatment of women, aka, the other half of the human population. Simply put, we still live in society where men seek to control women. Unfortunately, in the USA, this is accomplished through legislation or lack of legislation.
We will never be able to truly achieve healthy, happy, successful relationships and marriages between men and women until women have access to the same equal rights and treatment that men currently enjoy. As long as men, especially those in political offices seek to withhold equal rights access to women it encourages a culture of men who don't care to learn to become better romantic partners or understand the realities of women they partner with. This leads to the continued oppression of women in relationships, families, and homes. Ultimately, the culture that teaches us to idolize getting married and having kids, isn't also creating the foundations we need for that to be healthy and safe for both men and women on a larger scale.
We can never truly experience the healthy, happy marriage unions between the genders that we're taught to idolize on a bigger scale as long as there are enough men (and sometimes even women) in political offices who prevent women's rights legislation from passing, in any way. Nor can we achieve healthy relationships as long as women remain under the threats of oppression and being treated as second-class citizens.
Even in the concept of a healthy marriage, we as humans need to be able to evolve from our past selves, be mature enough to respect the differences of our partner, and figure out how to exist together. Without the need to control, intimidate, force, manipulate, coerce, or withhold basic equal treatment of another human being's rights (in this case women's). And without the need of survival or living in fear and compliance due to being treated as second-class or as inferior to men.
Please use the links below to learn more about what you can do to organize and bring the much needed changes we need in order to create more happy, healthy relationships between men and women, but ending the gender war.
The first order of business is to make sure EVERY state passes the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). Here's what you need to know.
